Why Annette Humphreys supports charity: She has a personal interest in helping others. It's in her soul! Coming from her own personal experience she knows the value of "need". As a young unplanned mother she struggled with being a single mom of two kids, unemployed and an unsupportive partner who struggled with addiction in drugs and alcohol. She remembers struggling to feed her kids and having to walk to the store to buy hot dogs & Mac & Cheese as a meal and even sometimes having to steal in order to provide for her children. Not her most proud days but did whatever it took to come up in life. Many things happened in her life that but none as life changing as the loss of her two children in 1991 from a house fire. "My life was a blur that first year after I lost my children", Annette said. "And I'm only standing her because I know that my children didn't suffer in this tragedy. I don't do suffering very well!"

Trying to put the broken pieces of her life together and forced to start her life over was a task. Haunted by happy memories everywhere she looked, it became impossible for her to move forward. She relocated to Northern California in the attempt to start her new life.

This was a good choice even though it removed her from family and friends. She had much support from her family and friends which helped her transition. She liked her new surroundings, bought a house in the Foothills area and planted her roots here in the hopes of a new start.

Two years later she lost her Father to cancer. This was epic for Annette and as stated before, she doesn't do "suffering". She was close to her father and he was her hero in many ways in her life. "The helplessness in standing before someone you love and knowing they are going to die is unreal and the pain in my heart was staggering" I've never experienced anxiety attacks in my life even during all the struggles, and even the loss of my children and yet when my father was dying before my eyes I felt like I was dying too" Annette said.

Since then she has married a great man, and has two beautiful daughters. Also has Unique Impressions with her step daughter and is stronger than ever and having a blast!

"People say that I am "STRONG" and I agree because the things that have happened in my life I have used them to make me strong. I hear some people use their life as an excuse for where they are today and that just doesn't work for me. We are to learn from what life gives us and turn it around�"
